College football

After the WONDERtorium, we went back to the house and ate a great lunch.  Debbie prepared barbeque brisket and cocktail weenies, vermicelli salad, baked beans, and mexican caviar.  My friend Jimmy and his son, Soren, arrived about 3:30.  After eating, we went to OSU and The Walk.  The Walk is where the football team and coaches walk across campus from the OSU hotel to the football stadium.  Several thousand fans line up along both sides of the street and cheer the team during the two block walk.  The band plays the OSU fight songs and Oklahoma!  Pistol Pete walks ahead of the team.  Lots of fun.

The gang at Boone Pickens Stadium waiting for the team to arrive.

GO POKES!!

Kelsey gets a higher vantage point to see the team arrive at the stadium.

Jimmy and Soren watching the team arrive.  Pistol Pete in the background had just finished leading the fans in an OSU cheer.

The OSU football team running onto the field.  Time to get Boone Pickens Stadium ROCKIN'!!!
We were part of a record attendance at an OSU football game. Just under 59,000 fans.

"Here comes, BULLET!!"  Bullet and the OSU spirit runners coming onto the field after an OSU touchdown.

Nailbiter.  The game was in doubt for OSU to the last second.  Literally.

Everyone appeared to have a great time.  Glad the Pokes won since Jimmy and Soren came from Colorado Springs to attend the game.  As we were leaving, Kelsey and Nolan felt the earthquake while we were still in the stadium.  Eleanor was at the house and said things were rattling around.  Sad that I missed it.  Enjoyed the game, the family and friends and looking forward to doing it again.

Dad, you didn't feel the rumbling?? I thought it was the crowd making the floor shake like it does at the mall when you're on the 2nd floor. That was a fun game. The last 20 minutes were a little too tense, but glad it went our way! GO POKES!!! #2 in the nation?!?!? Awesome!

Tara, I didn't notice anything unusual. Apparently I was much more traumatized by the last few minutes of the game than I realized. Also, I've been on so many floors that have a bounce that I don't notice it much anymore, especially when there is a crowd of people. If I heard a rumble, I must have passed it off as crowd noise or didn't consider it as unusual. More of you must have noticed something than I realized.

John, Kelsey, and I commented on it, and we thought it was the crowd making the floor shake. I thought it was a little weird that we didn't feel it, then we did, then it was gone. I wouldn't have thought of it again if Jeremy hadn't told kels what it was.
