Christmas Day

We planned to make a trip to Fairland today but did not do so.  Debbie had a fever on Wednesday evening.  She was not feeling much better on Thursday and Friday.  This morning she got up and readied to go, but her sinuses were really bothering her.  Headache, coughing, yucky stuff out of her nose.  She decided not to expose Lillian to whatever it is she has.  Oliver has been coughing, too.

We ate breakfast and milled around the house.  Introduced the grandchilluns to Loony Toons on youtube.  They watched several Bugs Bunny and Foghorn Leghorn cartoons.

Debbie, Tara, Kelsey and Jeremy made some desserts.  Oreo balls.  Tagalongs, or whatever you call Ritz crackers with peanut butter dipped in chocolate.  Cheeseball.  Jeremy dipped cinnamon and sugar donettes in chocolate.

Debbie and Kelsey put a turkey breast and ham in the oven around noon.  Everyone was saying they were hungry and Debbie realized the turkey and ham would not be ready for a few hours.  Jeremy suggested that we go to a local Chinese buffet for lunch.  So, we did the Dean version of "A Christmas Story" and had Chinese food for lunch.  There were several other families there, too.  Could not convince any of the Asian servers to sing "Deck the Halls" to us.  No "Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra".  Darnit.  (you know you just sang that song to yourself).

Deb is taking a nap right now.  Maggie was supposed to lay down and take a nap, also.  But Maggie came back into the living room after a few minutes.  Jeremy is crashed on the recliner.  Tara and Kelsey are in the kitchen making green bean and brocolli casseroles.  We are all playing a new game, Rephrase.  Now playing "Funglish".

Tara was trying to explain the Funglish game but no one was listening.

Using words to describe a "parachute".  Nobody figured it out.

Not the day we had planned, but still good to be with family.  The ham and turkey sure do smell good.

Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas.
