I'm working on another old building in OKC. This one is in much better shape than the other one I've posted about. Toughest part is installing an elevator and putting a door through a wall that is not tall enough for a door without cutting away most of a large concrete beam. The original building, the two story portion visible in the photo, was built in the early 1920's as a Packard dealership. Over the years but several years ago, two additions were made to the building. There was a ramp so they could drive cars to the 2nd floor. The ramp is gone now, but you can still see where it was located. During the last few years, a few people have tried to renovate the building and all gave up for various reasons. Some work was started and not finished. Hopefully, the group I am working with will finish the work.
Someone found some cool floor tiles under some newer floor covering during a previous renovation effort. Not sure if the current owners will try and salvage the tiles. Hope so. There is another area where some mosaic floor tiles are visible, but my photo did not turn out too well.
The diagonal line along the wall is where the old ramp was located. The ramp was removed, part of the hole through the second floor was filled in and a stair was added by another group working to renovate the building. Not part of what I'm doing.
