Savannah - Cathedral of St John the Baptist

Debbie and I walked and drove around the historic district of Savannah.  The variety of architecture was amazing.  Some of the buildings are over 200 years old along the river.  Here are a few of the photos that we took.  Hope you enjoy them.

One of the buildings was the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.  It looks like what I would expect to see in the Gothic cathedrals in Europe.  Construct of the cathedral started in 1873.  The final spires were finished in 1896.

A view toward the altar from the entrance.

More photos of other buildings to come in another blog entry.  Have a good evening.
