OSU Homecoming Parade

Debbie, Kelsey and I got up and went to the OSU Homecoming parade this morning.  We staked out our spot about an hour before the parade started.  Very nice weather.  About 70 degrees.  No rain.  LOTS of people attending.  Took a bunch of photos.

Debbie said take a photo of just her head.

Horses and carriages headed south on Main Street to the area where the parade would start at 9th Street about 4 blocks from where we were sitting.

Shawna and Hope.  Patty stopped by and talked to Debbie for a few minutes.  Patty is a proud grandma.  Her daugher, Melissa, just had a little girl, Tatum.  Melissa and Tara have been friends since grade school.  Shawna is Melissa's step-sister.

A few people already ready.  This is about 30 minutes before the parade started.

OSU Flying Team doing a flyover.

A few more people along the street.  Parade is about to start.  We could hear the sirens down the street.

Little Poke fan getting a good seat for some candy.

Debbie likes that little girl's skirt.

Drum major Jo Martindale.  She was granted a wish to lead a marching band.
She was spirited for a 79 year old!

Cowboys a riding, Lassoes a-flying,
Under the western sky. And as they ride,
We rise to sing and shout our battle cry!
Ride, ride, ride, ride,
Ride'em Cowboys, Right down the field;
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Fight'em Cowboys, and never yield.
Ride, ride, ride, ride,
Ride on, Cowboys, to victory;
Cross (opponent)'s goal;
Then we'll sing O-kla-homa State!

Grand Marshal was Stan Clark.  He is the founder of Eskimo Joes.
His wife, Shannon, was a student teacher in Kelsey's 2nd grade class.

OSU cheerleaders

Pistol Pete, and the other Petes.

Bullett and the Spirit Riders.

Cowgirl lassoed a Husker fan.  Each time he yelled, "Go Huskers!" she would yank on the rope.

Not too many bands in this parade.

Storm chaser, Val Caster and his little girl saying "hi".  Val lives in Stillwater.  He is the chaser that meteorologist Gary England wants when he says, "Get Val on the getner."

The black dog above stopped right in front of us and took a HUGE crap.
The group of little kids in front of us were freaking out.

Dunno who this guy is, but he was very spirited and the Mustang was awesome.

Several Westwood Elementary teachers in this truck.

Little guy in the front showing his momma all the candy he has hauled in.

Hmm.  Tea sippers at OSU?

Husky in the sidecar had an orange mohawk and was howling as they drove down the street.

Little kid with a helmet and an orange foam cowboy hat in front of the guy.

Stillwater High School marching band

The end.
