Antique Stores

Debbie and I spent the day milling around looking at antique stores in Perry, Tonkawa, and Blackwell. We left Stillwater around noon. The best one was in Blackwell. We didn't get there until almost 4 pm and the store closed at 5 pm. We will be going back again. There is alot of stuff to look at. We ate lunch, if you call eating at around 3 pm "lunch", at a small diner in Ponca City. The diner was JW's Family Diner or something like that. Not fancy at all but the food was good. We tried to find a steakhouse in Ponca City where we ate with Melissa (Lewis) several years ago, but we can't remember what it was called or where it was located.

Saw this building in Blackwell. Thought it was interesting. The building for the public pool.

On the way back to Stillwater, Debbie took several cool photos of the sunset.

Anyway, today was a fun day hanging out with Debbie.

Since reading that Tara couldn't post to your blog it made me think that I haven't tried...anyway - sweetie would get all sorts of bonus points if he went antiquing with me :). It looks like you guys had a fun day with an incredible drive home!

I like seeing the stuff. Most of it is junk. But never know what you will find, which is the fun part. Kinda like a museum. I'm intrigued when I find a pile of family photos that are obviously from someone's granny's stash. Kinda sad that those memories are in a store and no one to know the story behind the people and places.

Sis and I use to go to an auction - I love getting something that I have no idea what it is and doing the research to figure it out...even if I never figure it out, I learn so much along the way :). I did get a closthespin at a junk store one time...later on Sweetie took me to the American History Museum for a "Clothespin Exhibit" (my birthday) I found out that the clothespin was over 100 years old based on the design - it was so much fun!

Eleanor, Debbie took those photos over about 15 minutes as the sun went below the horizon. The photos did not do justice to how pretty it was.
